Finally, the election is over, we have a newly elected President circling the White House.
Again we realize the outdated Electoral College waving the “Landslide” victory flag which is greatly exagerrated. Reality is Mr. Obama had approximately 51% of the popular vote while Mr. McCain had approximately 46%. This organization fails to recognize these numbers as representative of a “Landslide” victory.
Clearly, the electoral college has outlived it’s usefullness and should be abandoned immediately. Additionally, taxpayer dollars are no longer to be spent on “Video Game” quality of voting machines! All too frequently we hear complaints of individual machines not recording votes correctly or failing completely.
This nation should be voting at all levels through an internet site. Security levels are available, as demonstrated with many other site currently in operation. Voting will be available to those who otherwise don’t get to the polling place. Voter turnout will increase at all levels. Unless the politicians of this country actually don’t want too many people voting?
It’s 2008, spend our money on a viable, national voting system.
